The base version of the Secret 1-2-3 add-in for Microsoft Outlook® will always be free.

The free version uses powerful cryptography and allows you to send and receive encrypted messages and attachments for free. We know that each day personal and confidential information sent via email is at risk, and we want to help protect, well, everyone.

We want to make it easy to be safe.

In the future we plan to sell various premium products with additional features.

Secret 1-2-3 will also always be free to your recipients, making it simple for everyone to use.

One-Click Email Encryption

Secret 1-2-3™ provides an easy "Send Secret™" button right inside your Microsoft Outlook® email program. This makes it extremely simple for anyone to use all the time, with no training and very little, if any, support required.

End-to-End Encryption

When using Secret 1-2-3, your email message and all attachments are completely encrypted before they leave your computer and are sent to your email service provider. All throughout the email transmission process, your Secret 1-2-3 email messages are safe from prying eyes.

When the Secret 1-2-3 encrypted message arrives in your recipients inbox it is then decrypted by using the private key of the recipient.

Encryption "At Rest"

For even more powerful protection, you may also decide to use our Encryption "At Rest" option, which eliminates the proverbial "sitting duck" problem when your email messages and attachments are stored permanently on servers, and can be attacked or compromised over time.

Secret 1-2-3 makes cloud-based email services safe for your confidential information.

Built-in Password Reset

Yes, it happens to the best of us. Despite our best efforts to use strong passwords and remember them without a sticky-note, on occasion we forget our passwords. Because we want you to have the best email privacy possible, it is critical that nobody but you have possession of your Secret 1-2-3 Password. This makes it tricky to help you recover it, should you forget it. But not a problem.

We have developed an Account Restore and Backup utility which is built into Secret 1-2-3. Right after you sign up and create your account, we will prompt you to run the Account Backup. You will be prompted to choose and answer 3 questions, which you can use to help you reset your password at any time, should it become necessary.

Account Restore also provides a quick method to setup your personal Secret 1-2-3 account on another computer. You can download and install from our website, and then during the sign up process, simply choose "Restore from Backup". There is no limit on the number of computers that you may install with Secret 1-2-3.

Self-Service

Combine free with self-service, and you get immediate results without requiring an IT project. This also makes it much easier for your recipients to get started, since nearly anybody can complete the sign up process quite easily, and get right back to work.

Easy To Share

When you want to "Send Secret" to someone, anyone, just click the button. If Secret 1-2-3 determines that one of your recipients does not yet have a Secret 1-2-3 Account, the message is encrypted using a strong symmetric key, and simple download instructions will automatically be provided at the top of the message. You even have the option to enter a clear-text personal message, which will be placed above the instructions, allowing you to offer some context and perhaps explain why you have encrypted the confidential information in that particular message. Powerful, Proven, Industry-Standard Technology

The design of Secret 1-2-3™ began nearly 4 years ago, with rock solid, industry-standard encryption technology. Full Technical Details are provided for those with a security background, but here's a quick summary: We utilize X.509 Certificates with RSA/2048 keys.  Our Secret 1-2-3 message format uses RSA/2048, SHA2 and AES256. The key size of RSA/2048 is projected by RSA and The National Institute of Standards and Technology Computer Security Division (NIST) to be sufficient until the year 2030.

For definitive peace of mind, all encrypt, decrypt and key generation operations take place locally on your computer, and we never possess your private key or email messages.

Account Backup and Restore

As mentioned above, the Account Backup utility provides a safe, convenient and easy method to reset your password. Another important function is to backup your critical account information, including your Secret 1-2-3 Certificates, and enable you to save the backup to a convenient and secure location. We suggest you consider placing a backup of your Secret 1-2-3 Account on an external hard drive, CD/DVD, USB memory stick or a network folder with restricted permissions.
